UFC fighter Diego Sanchez made a dream come true for one very special superfan recently.
The fan in question was Isaac “The Shermanator” Marquez.
Marquez, who has down syndrome, recently got an opportunity to visit Jackson Wink Academy in Albuquerque to watch pros train, and he and Sanchez became friends.
Sanchez even agreed to get in the cage with Marquez, and the two met for a “fight” at the Isleta Casino and Resort in Albuquerque on Friday night.
It was a close battle, but in the end it was the Shermanator who took the victory via submission:
“Most down syndrome adults don’t live past 45,” Sanchez said. “Isaac is 32, and I just wanted to see this young man be healthy. Exercise and martial arts are one of the most healthy things you can do.”
What a guy.
