Tony Ferguson has re-ignited his anger towards Khabib Nurmagomedov after the UFC sent him to the Performance Institute.
Ferguson was set to fight the undefeated Russian at UFC 209, but Nurmagomedov was forced to withdraw due to health reasons after a big weight cut.
As such, the promotion has indicated Nurmagomedov must attend it’s Performance Institute in the hope that he reaches the 155 goal weight in a healthy manner.
“I think wholeheartedly the Performance Institute is a good idea, but if he wants to wait until fall to do that, I think you’re preparing for failure,” Ferguson told MMAjunkie.
“You need to get your ass there now. Learn how to count some calories and actually give a (expletive) for your weight.
“I understand he doesn’t need money to fight – then retire. (Expletive) go away, man. You want to fight at 170, you want make a superfight, well we can handle that.”
Ferguson has been in limbo ever since, with current lightweight champion Conor McGregor in the midst of preparing for his boxing match with Floyd Mayweather Jr. in August.
