Holly Holm’s appeal to the New York State Athletic Commission to have her loss to Germaine de Romandie overturned has been unsuccessful.
The American lost the inaugural UFC women’s featherweight bout on points at UFC 208. During the fight, de Randamie landed two blows after the bell but no points were deducted from the Dutch fighter.
As a result, Holm’s camp lodged an appeal, asking NYSAC to look into the performance of referee Todd Anderson in the hope that the decision may be overturned.
According to Holm’s manager, Lenny Fresquez, NYSAC acknowledged that there had been two late strikes but said the referee was unable to get into position to stop either and could not overturn the result.
Holm desperately wants a rematch with de Randamie and all are eagerly awaiting the outcome of de Randamie’s visit with doctors that will determine if she needs surgery on her hand.
