Benavidez wants another title shot

Benavidez out-landed Moraga 113-55 overall, controlling almost a full two rounds of their fight.

Saturday’s win means that he has won seven fights at 125 pounds.

“We both came out guns blazing,” he said. “I was a little more well-rounded. Both of us always come to fight and I had to show him (I was more well-rounded).”

Benavidez took a head-kick early on in the fight but said afterwards that he felt fresh and strong after the 15-minute battle.

“Meat was flying everywhere,” he said. “My style (is reckless). I’m reckless, crazy. Every time I watch my fights I say I am going to tighten it up, but than I go to auto-tune.”

Benavidez scored on 3 of 5 takedowns, while Moraga failed on all three. Moraga did hold a 35-34 advantage in significant strikes landed.
