CM Punk pestering White for second UFC chance

CM Punk is “feverishly” badgering UFC president Dana White over potential opponents, as he bids for a second chance with the promotion.

Former WWE wrestler Punk – real name Phil Brooks – suffered a first round stoppage against Mickey Gall when he stepped into the Octagon in September and that looked to be the end of his brief UFC career.

However, the 38-year-old opened discussions with White before the end of 2016 over a possible second bout and he has not given up hope of continuing his UFC career.

“I am working on it feverishly. I'm throwing names at Dana (White), opponents, dates,” said Punk.

“I don't know if he's waiting for a Chicago show or what the deal is but if it doesn't happen in the UFC, it will happen somewhere else.

“I'm dedicated to fighting and training. We'll get there.”

White initially suggested after Punk’s emphatic defeat to Gall that he was unlikely to fight for UFC again.

However, Punk garnered significant publicity and pay-per-view buys at UFC 203 after spending a decade with the WWE.
