UFC legend Anderson Silva wants to face Conor McGregor before he enters retirement.
Silva is due to face Derek Brunson at UFC 208 next month as he looks to bounce back from July’s non-title loss against light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier.
The 41-year-old is in the Autumn of a career which has seen him crowned UFC middleweight champion and boast the record winning sequence in the promotion’s history.

But before he hangs up his gloves, Silva has his eyes on a blockbuster bout against McGregor.
Silva said: “I have this urge to test myself against him. I think he’s a guy who has an unusual ability.
“I do not know if he would reach a weight of 178 pounds, which is the weight I can get to, but it’s a guy I’d like to test myself before I end my career.”
A Silva-McGregor match-up appears unlikely, yet the UFC lightweight champion appears no closer to confirming his next bout.
Despite weeks of talk over a McGregor boxing encounter against Floyd Mayweather, the dream fight remains an unlikely proposition.
