Bisping, Woodley agree to catchweight bout

UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping and welterweight champion Tyron Woodley have verbally agreed to fight each other at a catchweight of 180lbs.

In a video posted to Bisping’s Instagram account, the two can be seen agreeing and shaking on the terms of a bout.

Bisping’s last fight was a gruelling unanimous decision win over Dan Henderson at UFC 204 last October, and he is likely to put his belt up against Yoel Romero next even though a date for the bout has yet to be confirmed.

Woodley, meanwhile, drew his last fight against Stephen Thompson at UFC 205 in November and there have been rumours that the duo will have a rematch. However, there is also speculation that reigning lightweight champion Conor McGregor could face Woodley for the welterweight title when he returns after the birth of his first child.

With no fights confirmed for either Bisping or Woodley, the pair met backstage at UFC 207 on December 30 and the middleweight took to Instagram to reveal what happened.

While both Bisping and Woodley seem to have no issues facing each other, it will be up to the UFC to decide whether the fight will go ahead.
