Nunes is the current UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion and, unlike former champions Holly Holm and Miesha Tate, reports suggest she may decide to wait for Rousey's return before making the first defence of her title.
The proposed bout seems to have a good chance of taking place, given that UFC President Dana White recently told a Brazilian MMA magazine that, “There is a great chance of Ronda fighting Amanda Nunes and I am very confident that Ronda will probably fight before the end of the year.”
According to the insider claims, Rousey vs Nunes is just one of the fights being assembled for the all-star card.
Other proposed bouts on the card include:
- UFC light heavyweight title fight: Anthony Johnson vs. Daniel Cormier
- UFC bantamweight title fight: Cody Garbrandt vs. Dominick Cruz
- Heavyweight rematch: Cain Velasquez vs. Fabricio Werdum
Wow, if that card goes ahead as rumoured, UFC fans would certainly be in for a rare treat this coming December 30.
