Johnson eager for rematch with Diaz

Following his win over Dustin Poirier at UFC Fight Night 94 on Saturday, Michael Johnson called out Nate Diaz for a rematch.

Johnson needed just 95 seconds to knock out Poirier, ending his two-fight losing streak in spectacular fashion.

Having got back to his winning ways, Johnson said he is now determined to step into the Octagon to face Diaz once again after the Stockton native defeated him via unanimous decision at UFC on FOX 17 in December last year.

“I want the big money fights,” Johnson said. “I want my rematch with Diaz, Khabib if he wants to fight, I heard Pettis tweeted and said he wanted to fight me but he’s a 45er (145 Ibs) now so I don’t know, but I want to fight.

“You know I’m healthy, I want to get another one in before this year’s over with and I just need to keep the ball rolling.”

After a flawless and dominant performance in Hidalgo, Texas, Johnson also believes that he deserves big money fights just as much as Diaz and Conor McGregor.

“I’m just coming here to show people I’m serious in this division,” he said. “Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz getting paid that money and they’re out here scrapping having a sparring match.

“I come to finish fights and go for the kill, pay me baby.”
