Max Holloway waiting for Jose Aldo to stop running from him

Eager to claim the featherweight title belt, Hawaiian MMA fighter Max Holloway continues to throw verbal jabs on a ‘scared’ champion Jose Aldo outside the Octagon.

In town to promote the UFC Fight Night Manila: Lamas vs. Penn, Holloway (16-3) calls out Aldo for choosing former lightweight champion Anthony Pettis over him for his next title bout since it will ‘sell more’.

Winner of nine straight fights, the 24-year old kickboxing specialist is just blown away on what could be a dodging tactic of ‘Scarface’.

“A champion should be the guy who’s willing to fight the best guy in the world. I understand that everybody’s talking about these money fights, mega fights, and this and that, but at the end of the day, you should want to fight,” said Holloway after his promo tour at SM Megamall in Mandaluyong on Saturday.

Holloway said he is more shocked than pissed on the development, believing he is already the best challenger in the division.

“If you’re the best guy in the world, keep proving it. I understand you can get injured and this and that can happen, but go out there and control what you can control and keep winning fights,” continued “Blessed”, who was accompanied by retired Filipino UFC fighter Mark Muñoz and first Filipina Octagon Girl Red dela Cruz.

Curiously, Holloway’s last loss was dealt by Conor Mcgregor, who already moved up in the division, via unanimous decision way back in 2013.

For now, he will be eyeing for his 10th straight victory that he hopes will pave the way for him to corner Aldo.

“All I can do is keep talking my talk and keep walking my walk. When Jose Aldo decides to stop running, we get the fight,” he said.
