After watching Stipe Miocic demolish Alistair Overeem at UFC 203 on the weekend, Jon Jones believes that he would be the challenge of a lifetime for the current heavyweight champion.
Jones’ immediate fighting future is in limbo after a failed drug test at UFC 200 forced him out of his rematch against Daniel Cormier and no date for his UFC return has since been set as he is still under a temporary suspension from the Nevada Athletic Commission.
However, the former long-time light heavyweight champion is still quite happy to taunt other fighters on social media despite his forced absence from the sport.
Miocic, who successfully defended his heavyweight belt against Overeem, has been Jones' latest target.
After watching Miocic's fight on the weekend, Jones Tweeted this on Twitter when questioned on how he thought he would fare against the champion.
"I'm starting to realize the hype is real with that guy [Miocic]. He's legit, I would be the challenge of a lifetime," the post read.
It will be fascinating to see who Jones' next opponent will be if anyone at all.
A scrap with Miocic would be a brilliant spectacle but surely the bout everyone wants to witness is the rematch with Cormier.
