Nate Diaz believes that he is 2-0 up against Conor McGregor even though he lost to the Irishman via majority decision at UFC 202 earlier this month.
The pair first squared off at UFC 196 in March when Diaz stunned the UFC community by ending McGregor’s unbeaten run when he made the featherweight champion submit in the second round of their fight.
In their rematch on August 20, the fight went the distance, and it was could have gone either way, but McGregor came out on top.
There is no doubt that Diaz believes the bout should have gone his way, and he posted a hilarious photo on his Instagram account to make that point as clear as possible.
In the photo, which he simply captioned "2-0", Diaz is sitting on a throne with a sceptre in his hand to portray that he is the king when it comes to his rivalry with McGregor.
Both fighters are eager to fight for the third time, but UFC president Dana White has made it clear that won’t happen in the near future as McGregor will either have to return to the featherweight division and defend his title against interim champion Jose Aldo, or give up his belt and take on lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez.
As for Diaz, White has admitted that the Stockton native is obsessed with fighting McGregor again, but the UFC president is confident that Diaz will soon turn his attention to another fighter.
