Will McGregor’s injury rule him out of New York mega card?

A foot and ankle injury suffered at UFC 202 could keep Conor McGregor off the blockbuster card for UFC 205 in New York on November 12.

UFC will be making it’s debut in New York City in November after a longtime ban on professional MMA ban in the city was revoked earlier this year.

Dana White and co are sure to have plans for a star-studded card in New York, and there is no star bigger than McGregor. However, the Irishman may be ruled out of the event at Madison Square Garden by an injury suspension.

McGregor had a pronounced limp after his bloody battle with Nate Diaz on Saturday night, and while he was reportedly cleared of a break or serious ligament damage to his left leg, an orthopedist will need to clear him of a fracture before he’s allowed to return to competition or he will be medically suspended until February next year.

This comes after the Nevada State Athletic Commission released their list of medical suspensions following UFC 202.

If McGregor is cleared of a fracture then he will be able to take contact from September 11 and return to action on September 20.
