Rousey takes a swipe at Mayweather

The award, which is handed out by broadcaster ESPN, was presented to Rousey on the red carpet prior to the start of the main ESPY awards ceremony.

Commenting after receiving the award, Rousey appeared to reference Mayweather's history of domestic violence by asserting: “I wonder how Floyd feels being beaten by a woman for once.”

It's not the first time that Rousey has taken a swipe at Mayweather over his domestic violence convictions. Following her 14-second hammering of a hapless Cat Zingano in May, Rousey was asked whether she thought she could beat Mayweather in a fight.

In response she said: “Well, I would never say that I can’t beat anyone. But I don’t think me and him would ever fight — unless we ended up dating.”

And, while Rousey certainly seems to have taken exception to Mayweather's actions, this feud goes all the back to early 2014 when Rousey said she could beat Mayweather in an MMA battle. Mayweather certainly wasn't getting drawn into a possible fight, asserting of Rousey: "I don't even know who he is".
