Former WWE superstar CM Punk, formally known as Phil Brooks, will make his UFC debut in a welterweight bout against Mickey Gall at UFC 203 on September 10.
The UFC confirmed the bout on Thursday.
Punk’s debut has been delayed twice, as he suffered two injury set-backs after signing with the UFC in December 2014.
He has long been expected to fight Gall, a relatively untested prospect who is 24-years-old and fights out of New Brunswick, New Jersey. It finally looks like the clash will materialise now.

Punk has been training at Roufusport Academy in Milwaukee, the home to former UFC lightweight champion Anthony Pettis. If he is able to make a successful transition into Mixed Martial Arts, he could well be the figure-head to lead many more WWE superstars into the UFC.
UFC 203 will be held in Cleveland, where hometown hero Stipe Miocic defends his UFC heavyweight title for the first time against Alistair Overeem. In the co-main event, Fabricio Werdum will take on Ben Rothwell.
