Conor McGregor doesn’t seem fazed by the fact that he will facing the man who ended his unbeaten run in the UFC once again.
McGregor is scheduled to take on Nate Diaz at UFC 202 on August 20, but is showing no nerves in the lead-up to the highly-anticipated bout.
Taking to Instagram, the reigning UFC featherweight champion also revealed that his preparation for the fight was going very well.
“Relaxing having a coffee before a great day of sparring. Preparation is going fantastic! My excitement for the circus is building,” McGregor said.
The last time the pair met, Diaz emerged victorious as he made the Irishman submit in the second round of their bout at UFC 196.
McGregor immediately called for a rematch and it was originally set to take place at UFC 200 on July 9, but it was pulled from the card when McGregor refused to fulfil his promotional obligations as he wanted to continue training in Iceland.
After the fight was cancelled, there was speculation that McGregor would take on Floyd Mayweather in a boxing match, but that was put to rest after the UFC confirmed that the Irishman would be facing Diaz at UFC 202 in Las Vegas.
