Andrei Arlovski has made it clear that Alistair Overeem should not have asked to fight him at UFC Fight Night 87 in Netherlands on Sunday.
Overeem is currently on a three-fight winning streak, while Arlovski was knocked out in just 54 seconds in his most recent fight against Stipe Miocic at UFC 195 in January this year.
Despite Overeem having the upper hand heading into the bout, Arlovski is confident that he will emerge victorious over his Jackson-Winkeljohn MMA team-mate.
“You should ask that motherf****r because he asked to fight me,” he told Starsport. “He begged Joe Silva to fight me in his hometown. So I just want to let him know be f*****g careful what he wishes for.
“I don’t care, I’m ready to go. I have the best coaches in my corner and I have the best team-mates. I’m very excited about the fight.”
Arlovski admitted that he has been impressed with Overeem’s performance as of late, but has vowed to put an end to his streak on Sunday.
“I’m very happy for him and I’m ready to fight him,” he said. “It’s going to be a good fight.
“I will take any opportunity to knock him out or take him down or do something.”
