McGregor: I will toy with Diaz in rematch

Conor McGregor, who lost to Nate Diaz in a welterweight title bout at UFC 196 with a second round choke submission, took to social media on Wednesday saying he would ‘toy’ with Diaz in a rematch.

During the early part of the bout on March 5 in Las Vegas, McGregor looked the better fighter landing a lot more blows than his opponent but in the second round he was well beaten.

“Working the rear hand uppercut with Roddy prior to UFC 196,” McGregor wrote on Instagram.

“A shot I called pre fight.

“Who else can call a shot like the rear hand uppercut on a big 6 foot lurch and then go out and dig that baby repeatedly into the nose?

“Didn’t think so.

“Mark my f**king words I am going to toy with him in the rematch.

“Believe that.”

It is still unclear if the two will ever have a rematch as McGregor is the featherweight champion and UFC’s Dana White is keen on him defending his title against the winner of the Jose Aldo v Frankie Edgar fight happening on July 9 at UFC 200.
