Holly Holm has made it clear that she wants a rematch with Miesha Tate after losing her women’s bantamweight title at UFC 196 last Saturday.
Tate was crowned the new champion when she made Holm submit in the fifth round of their bout.
However, Holm believes that Tate won’t be able to make her tap out again if they were to meet in the Octagon for a second time.
“I want a rematch. Miesha’s been around a long time. She’s a tough champion so I’m sure she’ll want to take the fight so let’s do it,” Holm told JacksonWink Raw. “I gave you a shot, give me a shot. I’m not going to let you choke me out again.”
However, Holm will have to wait to get her hands on Tate as UFC president Dana White has confirmed that Tate will defend her title against Ronda Rousey, who Holm defeated at UFC 193 in November last year to become champion.
Should Rousey defeat Tate and regain her bantamweight title, Holm may decide to turn her attention to Rousey in order to win back the title she lost.
