McGregor, Diaz pick up where they left off

The war of words between Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz continued after their heated press conference in Las Vegas on Thursday.

The two fighters had to be separated after McGregor lashed out at Diaz during their staredown, and the bad blood was evident as they participated in a split-screen interview for FoxSports 1’s FSLive: Jay and Dan show afterwards:

Asked about their spat at the presser, McGregor said: “The man was afraid to look me dead in the eye, so he put a frame out in front of him and I quickly snatched it and broke his wrist.
The medics are in with him now. His wrist will never be the same. Like his bum knee, like his bum leg.”

McGregor continued to take aim at Diaz, who has been struggling to keep up with the Irishman’s verbal jousting. Diaz did manage annoy the champion when he referred to him as a “rich kid”, however.

“Rich kids shouldn’t fight ever. Real people fight. Real people fight. Not [expletive] rich kids. You were born rich.”

McGregor fired back angrily: “You don’t know me. You don’t know where the [expletive] I came from. I’ll ride into Stockton [Diaz’s hometown] and take everyone out. Bunch of snitches in Stockton. I never heard of Stockton in my life.”

McGregor is be the overwhelming favourite for Saturday’s big fight in Vegas, despite the big step up in weight class. Reports suggest he was the one who asked to fight at 170lbs, and he’s certainly looking fearsome these days.
