Nick Diaz was less than impressed while viewing the latest training footage of his upcoming UFC 196 opponent, Conor McGregor.
“They give you a fight with the f**king new guy, who’s supposed to be the sh*t, but he ain’t working with nobody, he ain’t working with no black belts, he ain’t had no legitimate sparring, had no legitimate trainer,” said Diaz.
He then pointed at boxing coach Richard Perez, one of the men working with McGregor.
“Look at this trainer. This is ridiculous, he doesn’t have anybody in MMA on a level like this. You have a f**king guy swinging a f**king pool noodle at you, smacking you in the face with it, trying to promote his own sh*t. It’s a joke!”
McGregor has also been working with movement coach Ido Portal, who employs some unusual training methods. The Irishman believes Portal’s techniques help him have better control of his movement in the ring.
McGregor has also labelled Diaz’ footwork as “amateurish”.
