UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor has become renowned for his predictions prior to fights and he believes that he will knock out lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos “inside one minute”.
McGregor will fight Dos Anjos at UFC 196 on March 5 and made the prediction in the event’s promotional video.
“I believe I will dust Rafael inside one minute,” McGregor said in the video. “He’s like a bum version of [Jose] Aldo.”
In the past, many people have criticised the Irishman for making these predictions, but they have become something of a signature move for McGregor as he, on most occasions, backs up his talk with action once he enters the Octagon.
Should McGregor’s prediction of a victory over Dos Anjos come to fruition, he will make history by becoming the first UFC fighter to hold two different title belts at the same time. However, this will be a lot easier said than done, as Dos Anjos had a sensational showing in his first fight as champion as he knocked out Donald Cerrone in just 66 seconds at UFC on Fox 17 in December last year.
