Johny Hendricks looks set to make the weigh in ahead of his fight with Stephen Thompson, which certainly was not the case at UFC 192.
In the build-up to UFC 192, Hendricks suffered from a blockage in his intestine as well as a kidney stone as he did his utmost to shed weight. He was rushed to hospital and had to be given an IV before the fight with Tyron Woodley was called off.
However, there have been no such issues this time round for the former UFC Welterweight champion as he prepares to face 32-year-old Thompson.
“I’ve been eating six, seven meals a day, drinking a gallon of water a day,” he said to MMAjunkie.
“I haven’t been cutting weight. I haven’t tried to lose any. All I’ve tried to do is hit mits and work out. Every time I work out, I want to lose three pounds and I come back five pounds lighter. So I lose more than I want to. I have more energy because I’m eating and I’m fueling right.
“It’s a huge relief.”
