Jose Aldo believes that Rafael dos Anjos will defeat featherweight champion Conor McGregor in their highly-anticipated lightweight title bout at UFC 197 in March.
McGregor has a chance to make history on March 5 as he can become the first fighter in UFC history to hold two different title belts at the same time should he beat Dos Anjos.
However, Aldo does not see that happening and is confident that Dos Anjos will emerge victorious.
Aldo also revealed that he is not interested in fighting Dos Anjos, but admitted that should the UFC make the bout happen, he will have no choice but to face his Brazilian compatriot.
“I don’t read things on the internet too much. I don’t think there’s any possibility of this fight against Rafael happening,” Aldo told Globo Esporte. “He’s a guy I care a lot about. But everything is up to the UFC. They call the shots. But I’m sure Rafael will win his fight against McGregor.”
Meanwhile, Aldo also made it clear that he wants a rematch against McGregor after the Irishman ended his five-year reign as featherweight champion in just 13 seconds at UFC 194 on December 12.
“All champions who lost got an immediate rematch,” he said. “So we will only accept that. We are fighting for a right that is ours.”
