UFC Heavyweight Champion Fabricio Werdum has signed a contract that could see him finish his MMA career tied to the UFC.
According to a report by UFC Tonight on Wednesday, Werdum signed an eight-fight deal with the Las Vegas-based promotion but the exact terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
The 38-year-old will defend his heavyweight title against Cain Velasquez in a rematch at UFC 196 in Las Vegas on February 6.
At UFC 188 in June in Mexico, Werdum won the title by defeating Velasquez with a guillotine choke in the third round.
Werdum is 8-2 over the course of two separate stints with the Las Vegas-based promotion and has six straight wins in the octagon since returning to the UFC in 2012.
