Matt Brown believes that Jose Aldo should be given a rematch against Conor McGregor after the Irishman defeated him in 13 seconds to be crowned the undisputed UFC featherweight champion at UFC 194 on December 12.
Prior to his loss to McGregor, Aldo held the featherweight title for over five years and Brown feels that the grittiness and determination Aldo has shown over the years should entitle him to receive an opportunity to regain his title back.
"I think Aldo should fight Conor. Yeah, I think so 110 percent," Brown told the Great MMA Debate podcast.
"I think Aldo has done everything to deserve whatever he wants at this point in his career. That son of a b–ch has been a champion for however many years, undefeated for 10 years, he's been an honorable soldier for the UFC
"Maybe he's not the most marketable guy so that's the reason he's not getting it, but he just f—ing deserves it."
Brown also conceded that Frankie Edgar is knocking on the door for a title shot as well as the 34-year-old is currently on a five-fight winning streak, with his latest victory coming against Chad Mendes, who he knocked out in the first round at The Ultimate Fighter 22 Finale on December 11.
"Frankie deserves it, too," Brown added.
"I think he deserves it every bit as much as Aldo but when you're even like that you've got to pick one guy ahead of the other and the 'X' factor in that is Aldo was ex-champion for so many years and he already beat Frankie so he should get the jump in front of Frankie."
