LIVE UFC 236: Max Holloway vs Dustin Poirier 2 – updates, streaming, scores, results, watch live, bout

Max Holloway rematches Dustin Poirier, this time for the interim UFC Lightweight title in a main card that also features Kelvin Gastelum taking in Israel Adesanya for the interim Middleweight strap.

Two headliners, two interim titles.

But that’s just how the UFC rolls these days, with the sheer amount of logjam that divisions are prone to. With undisputed Champion Khabib Nurmagomedov suspended as a result of his role in the UFC 229 post fight melee, the Lightweight division needed a move on and perennial contender Dustin Poirier was there to answer the call.

Meanwhile, undisputed Featherweight Champion Max Holloway steps up in weight to challenge him in an attempt to add his name to the list of growing list of Champ Champs in the company.

Kelvin Gastelum should have already fought for the UFC Middleweight belt had it not been for Champion Robert Whittaker’s last minute withdrawal at UFC 234. As a result Israel Adesanya, who out-Anderson Silva’ed Anderson Silva on that card, takes an astounding 6th fight in 14 months against the hard hitting TUF alum.

The winner of that bout will unify the belts against Robert Whittaker when the Australian champ recovers from his hernia operation.

The remainder of the card is also filled with fun fights – if left a tad bit wanting in big names.
