Emanuel Navarrete overcame an early injury to battle out a 12th round knockout over Jose Sanmartin and claim the interim WBA super bantamweight title.
With 46 seconds remaining of the final round, Navarrete unleashed a powerful body shot which proved to be sufficient to slay Sanmartin in front of his home supporters in Mexico.
Victory was all the more impressive for the 23-year-old after he damaged his left hand in the fourth round, and handed the initiative to Sanmartin.
I don't think Sanmartin threw more than ten punches that round, absolute beatdown by Navarrete.

The Colombian took control of proceedings with his straight arms and hooks, although Navarrete attempted to keep him at a distance with his job.
With victory looming for Sanmartin, Navarette’s corner urged him to go for broke and he did just that – throwing a succession of combinations in the 11th which saw him dominate the round.
As the clock ticked down, Navarette connected with a hook to the body which saw Sanmartin hit the canvas and fail to meet the referee’s 10 count.
