IBF cruiserweight champion Murat Gassiev knocked out former two-time world champion Krzysztof Wlodarczyk in the third round of their bout on Saturday in New Jersey to claim victory in the World Boxing Super Series (WBSS) quarterfinal.
Gassiev was on top from the first bell, constantly attacking Wlodarczyk before sending him to the canvas on all fours with a powerful left hand to the body.

It was an impressive showing for Gassiev, who now faces unbeaten WBA champion Yunier Dorticos in the semifinals.
In the other big fight of the night, Ryan Burnett defeated Kazakhstan’s Zhanat Zhakiyanov on points in Belfast on Saturday in their bantamweight world championship fight.
The Belfast fighter unified the WBA and IBF titles at the SSE Arena after the judges scored the fight 118-110, 119-109 and 117-112 in Burnett’s favour after a bruising encounter.

The 25-year old was taken to hospital after the after complaining of a headache.
Burnett has now won all 18 fights since turning pro.
“It was tough and I had to dig deep, but I did it. I’m now a double world champion,” Burnett told TV cameras immediately after the fight.
In another result, Alberto Machado retained the WBA junior lightweight title after knocking out Jezreel Corales in the eighth round.
In a bout in Japan, Japan’s Ryōta Murata reclaimed the WBA middleweight title in the seventh round with a TKO over Hassan N’Dam of Cameroon.
