American Robert Byrd has been selected as the referee for Floyd Mayweather vs Conor McGregor, who will box in 8oz gloves.
The judges have been confirmed as Burt Clements, Dave Moretti and Guido Cavalleri, as chosen by the Nevada State Athletic Commission at a hearing on Wednesday.
The NSAC voted unanimously about the officials then also to waive their own rule that bouts in the 154lbs division, where Mayweather and McGregor will meet, must use 10oz gloves. Both fighters submitted requests to wear 8oz gloves, which has now been approved.

Las Vegas-based referee Byrd refereed Mayweather’s 2013 unanimous decision victory against Robert Guerrero.
Mayweather’s most recent three fights, and his pro debut 21 years ago, were overseen by Kenny Bayless who was not considered as the referee for next weekend’s fight due to critical comments.
Notably, Byrd has refereed Andre Ward’s first win against Sergey Kovalev, Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez’s win over Miguel Cotto and George Groves’ unsuccessful challenge of Badou Jack.
McGregor’s request for an international judge was granted with the inclusion of Italy’s Cavalleri.
