Manny Pacquiao’s rematch against Jeff Horn could take place in the boxing legend’s Philippines homeland.
Pacquiao lost his WBO welterweight title in a shock defeat to Horn last month after the Australian controversially prevailed in front of his own fans in Brisbane.
Despite approaching his 39th birthday and his obligations in the Philippines senate, Pacquiao does not intend to retire and will activate the rematch clause in the contract with Horn.
But this time, it could be Horn defending the belt in opposition territory, with Pacquiao revealing that the Philippines is one of the possible locations for the clash.
“I really want to have a rematch against Horn,” Pacquiao told the Manila Times.
“Although I haven’t formally talked with them yet, there is a rematch clause in our contract and there is a possibility I am going to exercise that.
“We will do our best to bring the fight here in the Philippines as we look also for sponsors. If not here, we are considering to bring the fight to Dubai or possibly in the United States.”
