Brook to defend IBF welterweight title against Spence Jr

Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn has confirmed that Kell Brook will defend his IBF welterweight title against America's Errol Spence Jr in Britain.

The 30-year-old Brook had hopes of a showdown against compatriot Amir Khan but talks broke down last month.

Spence, who has a perfect record of 21 wins from 21 bouts, is the mandatory challenger for Brook and Hearn said via his twitter account that the fight will take place in the UK, although he did not mention the venue.

Spence Jr's trainer Derrick James told Sky Sports earlier this month that travelling to the UK for the bout is "not a problem at all" for his fighter.
