Manny Pacquiao is preparing to head to the USA after reaching the end of a “killer” training camp in his native Philippines.
Pacquiao will emerge from a brief retirement to fight WBO welterweight champion Jesse Vargas in Las Vegas on November 5 – six months after his last bout against American Timothy Bradley ended in victory.
The 37-year-old has been combining his work as a senator in the Philippines Senate, with a gruelling regime to prepare for the Vargas encounter.
But with the Philippines Senate now in recess, Pacquiao is due to head to California where he will fine-tune his training at Freddie Roach’s Wild Card Boxing Club, in Hollywood.
“I have been training Manny for 15 years and even after all this time he still amazes me,” said Roach.
“He’s pushing 38 and he still outworks every fighter I’ve ever worked with. He’s had a killer schedule during this training camp but it’s been really productive.
“You’d have to see it to believe it.”
