Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn revealed that a heavyweight clash between IBF heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua and Wladimir Klitschko could take place soon.
The news comes after current WBA and WBO champion Tyson Fury relinquished his belts after withdrawing from two scheduled matches with Klitschko and revealing his cocaine issue.
"It is the big favourite to be the next fight for both," Hearn told BBC Sport.
"Whether it gets over the line time will tell. It is the biggest heavyweight fight in the last ten years. I want to get it over the line."
Joshua was scheduled for a defence of his title on 26th November, but Hearn is adamant he would jump at the chance to fight the veteran in December, whose loss to Fury in 2015 was his first in 11 years.
Meanwhile, Joshua has rocketed to fame and is unbeaten after 17 bouts, winning via 17 knockouts with no fight going past the seventh round.
