If the league doesn’t rescind Westbrook’s technical, he will be suspended for one game and fined $5,000.
The 30-year-old point guard is averaging a triple-double for the third consecutive season. His 23.2 points, 11.1 rebounds and 10.5 assists per contest has helped Oklahoma City reach a 42-27 record entering Saturday, which is good for fifth in the Western Conference standings.
The Thunder are 5-7 since the All-Star break, and they could miss out on home-court advantage in the playoffs if things don’t shape up soon. Missing Westbrook certainly won’t help this effort.
