Spencer Dinwiddie is returning to the court.
The 25-year-old guard will play in the Nets’ matchup with the Hornets on Friday, coach Kenny Atkinson told reporters. Dinwiddie missed the last 14 games with a thumb injury that required surgery.
“It’s unbelievable how fast he is, how just the talent screams at you,” Atkinson said. “It’s just great to have him back.”
Dinwiddie is averaging 17.2 points and five assists this season. He’s shooting 46.1 percent from the field and 36.6 percent from 3-point range.
“Three days post-op I was already running and doing all that stuff so my routine, although obviously not playing, hadn’t really changed in terms of getting work in,” Dinwiddie said about the injury. “Obviously being on the sidelines and watching your team play is always hard.”
The Nets will enter their matchup against the Hornets in sixth place of the Eastern Conference with a 32-31 record.
