The 28-year-old forward is expected to take it day by day as there’s no timetable on his return.
The Thunder will be without leading scorer Paul George against the 76ers on Thursday as the forward is dealing with shoulder soreness, the team announced.
George injured his shoulder during Tuesday’s 121-112 loss to the Nuggets, according to ESPN, though it’s not clear exactly when it happened. He had ice on his shoulder after the game and missed Thursday’s shootaround. He is expected to “take it day by day” and there’s no timetable yet on his return.
Thursday’s game marks just the second he has missed this season as he previously was sidelined with a bruised right quad against the Suns on Dec. 28. Dennis Schroder started in George’s absence, scoring 20 points in 39 minutes.
George, 28, has helped Oklahoma City to a 38-22 record as it sits in third in the Western Conference behind the Warriors and Nuggets. The forward has averaged 28.6 points, 8.1 rebounds and 4.3 assists this season.
