Isaiah Thomas injury update: Nuggets guard (hip) to make season debut, report says

Thomas appeared to hint at his return Tuesday on Twitter.

Nuggets guard Isaiah Thomas, sidelined all season as he rehabbed from hip surgery last spring, will make his season debut Wednesday against the Kings, ESPN.com reported, citing unidentified league sources.

Upgraded earlier to questionable for the game in Denver, he made his decision Wednesday morning to play, according to the report.

Thomas appeared to hint at his return Tuesday on Twitter after practicing 5-on-5.

Thomas, 29, had offseason hip surgery before signing a one-year, $2 million veteran’s minimum deal with Denver in July. The two-time All-Star has averaged 18.9 points per game and shot 36.1 percent from 3-point range over his seven-year career.

His return less than a week after Denver stood pat at theĀ trade deadline was characterized by some as the same as an addition made via a deal.

The Nuggets (38-18) enter their last game before the All-Star breakĀ in second place in the Western Conference, three games back of the first-place Warriors and one game up on the Thunder.
