Much to the delight of Filipino basketball fans, Kai Sotto finally took a step forward to chasing his NBA dream by announcing his decision to train in foreign soil.
Along with his father Erwin Sotto, Kai left Manila earlier this week to begin his two-month intensive basketball training in Atlanta, Georgia.
In an Instagram story, the 16-year-old wunderkid shared an image of his sanctuary for the next 60 days — Emory Sports Medicine Complex, which just so happens to be the practice facility of the Atlanta Hawks. The move was made possible by Atlanta-based East-West Private agency, the same agency that represented Gilas Pilipinas in the past.
The 7’2 teen also seems to be settling in to his new environment, as he also shared clips of him grocery shopping and enjoying some time on the golf course.
Sotto is currently fielding multiple offers from established European clubs to play overseas.
The entire country will certainly be watching eagerly on his next decision. But for now, the young prospect seems to be solely focusing on honing his basketball skills and reach his full potential.
