Former Ateneo Blue Eagle standout, NLEX Road Warrior rookie, and Gilas Pilipinas player Kiefer Ravena has been banned by FIBA for 18 months from any basketball related activities.
In a presscon by the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas, it was revealed that Ravena tested positive on three banned substances by World Anti-Doping Agency. This happened in the second game against Japan wherein his urine sample was tested.
Kiefer Ravena has been declared ineligible for FIBA-sanctioned competitions after testing positive for banned substances. https://t.co/AHdBm9qWFj

It wasn’t a recreational drug, it wasn’t steroids, it was an honest mistake. How many times has Kiefer suited up for the national team kahit nung bata pa siya? He’s a good kid, and I stand by my friend.
