NBA Wrap: Irving hits 35 as Celtics win 9th straight

Kyrie Irving scored 35 points, and Jayson Tatum added 21 as the Boston Celtics edged past the Atlanta Hawks 110-107 on Monday night for a ninth straight win, their longest winning streak in seven years.

Irving’s three-pointer put the Celtics 104-103 ahead with 1:37 remaining, and Boston held on for the win.

Dennis Schroder had 23 points for the Hawks.

Former Hawk Al Horford scored 15 points, grabbed 10 rebounds and had nine assists in his best game against his former team as Boston improved to 9-2, the best in the NBA.

D’Angelo Russell scored 23 points and nine assists, while Joe Harris scored a season-high 18 points as the Brooklyn Nets beat Phoenix 98-92.

The Suns came back from a 15-point first-half deficit to lead 75-74 in the final quarter, but the Nets got their noses back in front and held on to snap a four-game losing streak.

DeMarre Carroll added 14 points and 11 rebounds for Brooklyn.

T.J. Warren scored 20 points for the Suns, who lost their third straight game. Devin Booker scored 18 points before fouling out late on.

Kevin Durant scored 21 points and eight rebounds to help the Golden State Warriors beat the Miami Heat 97-80 in a low-scoring outing.

Draymond Green scored 18 points with a season-high four 3s to go with nine rebounds as the defending NBA champions won for the seventh time in their last eight games, including three straight in lopsided fashion on their recent road trip.
