NBA Wrap: James leads Cavs to win over Bulls

LeBron James scored 34 points and added 13 assists in a rare start at point guard as the Cleveland Cavaliers defeated the Chicago Bulls 119-112 on Tuesday.

Kevin Love contributed 20 points and 12 rebounds, while Dwyane Wade added 11 points from off the bench.

Justin Holiday top-scored for the Bulls with 25 and rookie Lauri Markkanen added 19.

The Celtics overcame the Knicks 110-89 thanks to 23 points from Jaylen Brown, while Jayson Tatum added 22.

Kyrie Irving scored 20 points and made seven assists for Boston, while Al Horford ended with 13 points and 13 rebounds.

The Celtics have now won two straight after two opening losses while the Knicks are still winless after three.

Enes Kanter led New York with 16 points and 19 rebounds.

In Minneapolis, the Pacers eased past the Timberwolves 130-107 off 28 points from Victor Oladipo.

Cory Joseph scored 21, while Darren Collison (15) Bojan Bogdanovic (19) and Domantas Sabonis (15) also hit double figures for Indiana.

Karl-Anthony Towns top-scored for Minnesota with 28 points and seven rebounds.

Aaron Gordon netted a career-high 41 points for the Magic, including the go-ahead 3-pointer with 35 seconds left, as Orlando defeated Brooklyn 128-121.

Evan Fournier added 28 points including two free throws for the last two points.

D’Angelo Russell starred for the Nets with 27 points.

CJ McCollum scored 23 points for the Trailblazers as they defeated the Pelicans 103-93.

Damian Lillard and Evan Turner each added 13 points for Portland.

DeMarcus Cousins hit 39 points and pulled down 13 rebounds as he started the season with his fourth straight double-double.

Twenty-two points from Blake Griffin helped the Clippers to a 102-84 win over the Jazz.

Patrick Beverley helped out with 19 points, while DeAndre Jordan added 11 points and 18 rebounds.

Donovan Mitchell scored 19 points for Utah.
