Hilarious conspiracy theory sweeping the NBA playoffs

The late Christopher Hitchens once said that most people would rather have a conspiracy theory than no theory.

So here we are, in the thick of the NBA Playoffs, and we have a hilarious conspiracy sweeping across the internet.

It involves Washington Wizards forward Markieff Morris, who suffered an ankle injury in Game 1 of his team’s series against the Boston Celtics.

Come Game 2, he appeared to be just fine and even started for the Wizards.

How did he recover from his injury so quickly? The going theory — the word ‘theory’ used very loosely — is that Markieff’s twin brother, Marcus, who’s a forward for the Detroit Pistons, stepped in his place and has suited up for the Wizards.

Not only are Markieff and Marcus identical twins, but they also have identical tattoos. As always, here comes NBA Twitter:

Of course, this conspiracy theory has no real basis in truth…

…probably.
