Bulls beat Cavaliers for fourth time in the season

The lowly Chicago Bulls beat the Cleveland Cavaliers 99-93 on Thursday in the NBA to notch up their fourth consecutive victory against Lebron James’ team this season.</p>

Lying ninth in the Eastern Conference and fourth in the Central Division, the Bulls may not make the playoffs and they certainly haven’t met any of their preseason expectations.

However, On Thursday they beat the Cleveland Cavaliers, the defending champions, for the fourth time.

In a way, that makes them the new best team in the league.

Nikola Mirotic was the star of the show with 28 points on 9-of-14 shooting and 10 rebounds.

The big three (Kyrie Irving, LeBron James, and Kevin Love) all featured for the Cavaliers but failed to impart their will on the game – Irving and Love combine for only 10-of-30 shooting.

“We’re just in a bad spot right now,” James said following the Cavs’ fifth loss in the past seven games.

“Not disappointed with the effort. We’re just in a bad spot.

“We’re going to try to figure it out. I think the effort was there.

“I just don’t think the concentration for as close to 48 minutes is there yet. Which is unfortunate.”

The defeat knocked the Cavs a half-game behind the Boston Celtics for the top seed in the Eastern Conference.
