NBA Wrap: Harden stars in Rockets’ loss, Celtics win

James Harden’s huge triple double was not enough to see the Houston Rockets home against the New Orleans Pelicans while the Boston Celtics edged the Brooklyn Nets in Friday’s NBA action.

Harden has been on fire all season and Friday night proved no different, as he netted 41 points in a losing 128-112 effort.

The Pelicans were in front from the get go in Houston, notching up 36 points in the opening quarter.

Elsewhere, the Celtics closed in on Eastern Conference leaders Cleveland Cavaliers with their third consecutive win, edging the Nets 98-95.

Karl-Anthony Towns’ 31 points was not enough to see the Minnesota Timberwolves over the line, as they lost 123-105 to Miami Heat who get their second win in a row.

In a low scoring affair, the Toronto Raptors racked up their 40th win of the season when they defeated the Detroit Pistons 87-75.
