NBA Wrap: Cavs too good for Pelicans

The in-form Cleveland Cavaliers saw off the New Orleans Pelicans 90-82 in the NBA on Monday despite their injury issues.

The Cavs were without the influential Kyrie Irving but still managed to post an eighth win in their last nine games courtesy of 26 points from superstar LeBron James.

Jimmy Butler, meanwhile, chalked up an incredible 52 points and 12 rebounds as the Chicago Bulls beat the Charlotte Hornets 118-111, with Kemba Walker’s double-double in vain for the Hornets.

Klay Thompson notched 25 points as the Golden State Warriors recorded their 29th win of the season after a 127-119 success over the Denver Nuggets, while Giannis Antetokounmpo’s double-double saw the Milwaukee Bucks beat the Oklahoma City Thunder 98-94.

Gordon Hayward was the star of the show as he scored 30 points in the Utah Jazz’s 101-89 triumph over the Brooklyn Nets, while the Houston Rockets downed the Washington Wizards 101-91 and the Los Angeles Clippers were too good for the Phoenix Suns, winning 109-98.
