NBA Wrap: Bulls stun Nets with comeback win

Jimmy Butler starred as the Chicago Bulls produced a stunning late comeback to beat the Brooklyn Nets 101-99 in the NBA on Wednesday.

Butler was helped from the court after suffering an injury with five minutes to go but returned to chalk up nine points – including hitting the game-winning three-pointer on the buzzer – in a 40-point haul.

Kevin Durant and Stephen Curry were unstoppable as the Golden State Warriors saw off the Toronto Raptors 121-111.

Durant had 22 points, 17 rebounds and seven assists while Curry scored 28 and added seven assists and seven rebounds. DeMar DeRozan, meanwhile, became Toronto’s all-time leading points scorer with 10,725 after his 29-point haul.

LaMarcus Aldridge stepped up as the San Antonio Spurs cruised past the Phoenix Suns 119-98, while the New Orleans Pelicans saw off the Los Angeles Clippers 102-98.

Dennis Schroder scored 27 points, while Dwight Howard chalked up 22 rebounds as the Atlanta Hawks beat the New York Knicks 102-98 in overtime.

The Charlotte Hornets enjoyed a dominant third quarter in their 120-101 triumph over the Orlando Magic, while John Wall had 36 points as the Washington Wizards beat the Indiana Pacers 111-105 and the Milwaukee Bucks cruised to a 119-94 victory over the Detroit Pistons.

A triple-double from Karl-Anthony Towns was not enough to prevent the Minnesota Timberwolves crashing to a 105-103 loss to the Denver Nuggets, while the Portland Trail Blazers ended a six-losing streak as they beat the Sacramento Kings 102-89.
