Russell Westbrook scored an impressive 46 points, but the Oklahoma City Thunder were still beaten 110-108 by the Atlanta Hawks on Monday.
Westbrook also grabbed 11 rebounds and was three assists shy of completing a triple-double, but received little support from the rest of his team-mates.
Dennis Schroder and Paul Millsap worked together to score 61 points for the Hawks, with the former dropping 31 and the latter ending up with 30.
It was another close affair at the Bankers Life Fieldhouse as the Indiana Pacers defeated the Washington Wizards 107-105.
Thaddeus Young made the game-winning shot with just under a second left to play, while Paul George led the Pacers in scoring with 27 points.
Bradley Beal had 22 points for the Wizards.
The Chicago Bulls faced little trouble in their clash with the Detroit Pistons as they triumphed 113-82.
Jimmy Butler scored 19 points and dished out six assists for the Bulls, while Taj Gibson chipped in with 16 points and four rebounds.
Jon Leuer was the Pistons’ top-scorer with 16 points.
A 28-point night from Karl-Anthony Towns saw the Minnesota Timberwolves take down the Phoenix Suns 115-108.
Towns, who also pulled down 15 rebounds, was well supported by Andrew Wiggins, who finished with 26 points.
Eric Bledsoe dropped 27 points for the Suns.
In the final game of the day, the Denver Nuggets secured their 12th win of the season after beating the Dallas Mavericks 117-107.
Nikola Jokic ended the game with 27 points, 15 rebounds and nine assists, while Gary Harris added 24 points.
Deron Williams scored a team-high 23 points for the Mavericks to go with his eight assists.
