Hurting Japeth Aguilar a game-time decision come Game 5, says Tim Cone

Ginebra athletic forward Japeth Aguilar is a game-time decision on Sunday as the Kings look to grab a 3-2 series lead against the Meralco Bolts in the PBA Governors Cup Finals at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

The 6-foot-9 Aguilar sprained his left ankle in the final period of Game 4 during a rebound sequence. He managed to join the team’s practice as the Kings prepared their half-court sets.

“He (Aguilar) will warm up tomorrow (Sunday) and we will determine his availability at that time,” Cone told FOX Sports after their Saturday practice at the Upper Deck gym in Pasig City.

The Gin King big man, who earned his first All-Defensive Team citation, along with a spot in the Mythical Second Team, was subdued in his moves in practice.

Aguilar left the practice venue quickly to get some treatment on his ankle as he did not grant an interview from the press.

The 29-year-old Aguilar has filled the spot vacated starting slotman Greg Slaughter after averaging 10.75 points, 9.0 rebounds and 1.75 blocks in the first four games of the Finals. – Jason Mercene
