San Sebastian College edged out Emilio Aguinaldo College, 87-71, in a rather physical, yet non-bearing game in the 92nd NCAA men’s basketball tournament at the San Juan Arena on Thursday.
The match had no significant effect on the league’s Final Four rankings as both the Stags and Generals are already out of the semifinals, but the match nonetheless had some splice of drama in the second half.
General senior Sidney Onwubere was ejected in the fourth quarter following a second technical called on him. He finished the game with 19 points.
San Sebastian though had already established full control by that time, leading by as much as 20 points on the way to the one-sided victory.
Five Stags scored in double digits led by Michael Calisaan’s 22 points.
“At least nakikita namin yung samahan ng mga bata na hindi bumibigay,” Stags head coach Egay Macaraya said in a post-game interview. – John Chester Fajardo
